1. Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on your new prospect, that sounds like a *solid* offer. You could do quite well for yourself in the Motorola Corporation, and the proximity of Libertyville would allow you to come back and enjoy your old “stomping grounds” while Kurt and I move towards our own graduation date. Outstanding!

   An update on my internship: it is going progressively well. We are near to the very end of our pre-pilot stage testing of the Digital X-Ray system I have been assisting with for the past few months, and my Boss has informed me that once we are done with this “milestone”, I will have nearly free reign on which aspects of the project I want to work on next. I’m hoping to have a chance to work with/look over the Imaging source, as this entails some of the more interesting aspects of this products functionality and nifty new features.

   I’m even more excited about the schedule I will be taking when I get back on campus (ECE 362, CS 322, CS 340 or ECE397, Phil 263, and Rel 200 (or 210, if still open when I am able to register); if you are enrolled in ECE 362 for the upcoming quarter, thepowerful Triumvirate of Northwestern CompE majors (namely, Kurt, you, and me) should form the Terrible Tandom that was never able to take form in ECE361 due to formerly intrusive circumstances. And we shall utilize our power to form the finest Mentor Graphics Pipeline Processor ever assembled, hopefully in that spiffy new Ford building.

2. Yep, I’ll be in ECE 362 next quarter. Justice on Mentor Graphics and all of its ilk shall be obtained, at any cost! Prepare…for Mr. Billion PART TWO!

3. Your referrence to Mr. Billion is strangely appropriate; I possess a large number of the Calvin and Hobbes anthologies and recently read the one possessing that entire storyline.

   On another slightly related note, Bill Watterson resided in my parents’ town in Ohio, and currently resides in another Ohio town 20 minutes from where I live. He became a recluse when Calvin and Hobbes brought him unwanted fame, and is rarely seen in public these days.

5. Oh man, I wish Mr. Watterson had released just a little bit more Calvin and Hobbes memorabilia. The fact that I don’t have towels, mugs, and bedsheets plastered with Hobbes pouncing on Calvin is a personal failing to me.

   I am so miserable. Maybe an import t-shirt would cheer me up…

8. Your recent post referencing the materialistic/commerically-exploitative aspect of Calvin and Hobbes is pretty humorous, as the comic strip itself took such a sardonic stance on the same issue. As it is, your post is a classic example of “Life Imitating Art Imitating Life”, and I enjoyed it.

   Andy, I will likely be engaging (for my 6th credit during the upcoming quarter), in Professor Gokhan’s ECE 399 course with Motorola; I think it will be a very solid opportunity to invest my time/energy into a topic that I have been fascinated. Also, on a very separate note, I would like to consult with you on which distro I should invest my time into; I have decided to begin dual-booting again, as I have always found Linux to be very favorable compared to its corporate counterparts. I’ve asked Kurt for his opinion on this before, but I think Ubuntu is quite too high-level for my own tastes. We shall discuss this in the near future.

9. I would like to point out, for future reference, that I made the above (and final) post on this thread while I was quite inebriated.

   Upon further review, it appears that the vast majority (~95%) of the posts I make on people’s blogs come under the influence. Just for reference, folks. (Recently, I’m almost entirely cut alcohol out of my life.)
